November 24, 201312 yr I hope I can post this subject here, so that I can get the opinions of a broader cross section of people: Just about 3 years ago, I gave VOX ATC a try on their 7 day free trial offer, but unfortunately, I was using UT2 and just could not get it to work with VOXATC even with the UT2 bridge tool. I tried in vein even with the advise of the developer, to get things working and so I stayed with RC4 that I was using at the time. over the past 3 years I put up with some of my pet peeves with RC4 (my own personal feelings) until trying out another program that just isn't panning out for me, so I am thinking of again putting out some money to achieve the one thing that has always been missing for me in this great hobby. That being a realistic sounding and performing ATC program. I am aware that the synthetic voices now available for use with VOXATC have improved even further than 3 years ago, but I also know they come at a price and this is what I am looking at, added to the cost of yet another purchase in my quest for a good ATC program. So just how good is VOX ATC? I would love to hear the pros and cons from people who do or have used VOX ATC. Is it worth yet another cash layout or will I be putting out more money for something that doesn't exist? I am now and have been for some time using MTX, so I am thinking of trying to download and try again with MTX rather than UT2 and see what happens. I am hoping that because I have a new rig, that the VOX ATC installer won't recognize that I have tried before. if it does, I will probably go begging to the dev for another try. Anyway, if the trial works and I like what I see, depending on your replies, I am going to seriously consider this Program. I look forward to your feedback. Edit: I have read the various posts in their forum here. Rick Hobbs
November 24, 201312 yr I own RC4 (haven't used it in a long time), ProFlight Emulator, and VoxATC. I use Vox almost exclusively now. It does Sids/Stars on the fly depending on the active runway. I use My Traffic X. When on the ground, Vox does a good job of handling AI traffic. My one pet peeve with Vox is that it generates little enroute traffic. You will occasionally see some other aircraft but not many contrails. I use Ivona voices. They are a little pricey, but they're the best I've found.
