December 3, 201312 yr A selection of raw screen grabs from P3D2; note the lovely lighting effect from the shadows feature, in Pic 2. That is what P3D2 is all about; increasing immersion. In case anyone notes that there is not a lot of autogen in the first screenies it is because they are in the Canadian Arctic (Inuvik), so although there's not a huge amount to see, it's actually pretty visual for a default depiction of the Arctic (albeit with FTXG textures). FPS in all of these shots is at 33.9 (I set P3D2 frames to unlimited, and lock at 34 FPS using RadeonPro). Vsync is on and there are no stutters; my P3D2 set up is the smoothest, highest performing sim I have yet enjoyed in 15 years of simming.... and to be honest, I'm afraid to touch it or install anything else in case I break it!! Click to see full size

IMO, if it works don't fix it. I find it strange anyway that people are complaining about performance issues when they run a s**tload of addons. Simple equation for me - the more you see, the more work for PC. Eventually even a top rig will scream uncle! The trick is finding your personal optimum for eye candy and performance. We should be pleased that FS allows so much customization. It's not a bug. It's a feature! Well, looks like you found your sweet spot!
