Question about Ken Salter's FSAutostart

Featured Replies

How does Ken Salter's FSAutostart compare to EndItAll?Thanks,RH

Ken's program is fantastic. Much better for FS than anything else out there IMHO. Get it! Ken has done a great job on this little utility and it works perfectly!

Same here , great job & thank you Ken!

Hi Robbie,One nice feature of FSAutostart is it will restart the services you have it terminate when it starts. Been a while since I used Enditall and don't recall if it offered that feature. I find it simple and effective to use.

I use FSAutostart all the time and am 100% happy with it.

I must agree with everyone else, its a great utility. Very easy to use and effective. Not to mention that its, surprisingly, for free.

I have an old version of it, and I'm more than happy with it. I'm considering getting the newest version, when I get around to it...Certainly a recommended product. Thanks Ken!James

Although both FSAutostart and EndItAll essentially do the same thing, that is, shut down programs and stop services, they do so for different reasons. FSAutostart is designed to terminate programs and services prior to running MS Flight Simulator (or any other specific application) in order to maximize available RAM for that application. FSAutostart will restart those programs and services when the specific application is finished.EndItAll also terminates programs and stops services but its purpose has a different function. Since EndItAll does not restart programs or start up services, its purpose is to stop those programs and services that are not necessarily needed. Additional RAM is then available for all applications that you run or intend to run. Here's the 'gotcha' -- do you really know what to shut down permanently before each session that you spend in front of the computer? In either case, FSAutostart and EndItAll do nothing permanent to your system. A simple restart will get all programs and services back and running.Hope this helps.

Thanks John and the rest of you guys, and season's greetings! I take it then the FSAutostart does not hunt down extra hidden programs to give you lots of extra framerates! It sounds like a winner nonetheless.RH

What "extra hidden programs" are you referring to? Just curious...Oh and thanks to everyone for the positive comments! I'm glad you find my program useful.
