Read/unread distinction gone

Featured Replies

When I go into a forum now, all thread topics are shown in light font whereas before only those read were in light font and those with unread posts were in bold font. Is there a setting I am missing?

See my topic below entitled Bold Topics Stay as Bold Topics. Only way I found to fix this problem (so far).

Best regards,

Hi Jim, what is happening here is that "Mark This Forum As Read" is getting checked, how do I uncheck it???

You can't. We did have an issue where all topics and posts were in large bold type occasionally but that issue was fixed. Never heard of the problem with "Mark this Forum As Read". You are not touching the line and it is doing it automatically? That sounds more like where all the posts were highlighted occasionally. Believe that was a programming error and fixed.

If I look at the topic pages, at the top of the topic list (to the right of the page numbers, it say's " mark this forum as read" with a check mark beside it.

Most of the topics listed below are in standard font with only some in bold which denotes unread posts. I don't know when it changed (on my machines anyway), but any unread topic would remain in bold font until I had read it, at which time it would change to standard font on the topic page.

What I have now is just the first few topics with unread posts will be in bold and the rest in standard font, even if I have never read them.

Have you deleted your browser cache.  The check mark next to "mark this forum as read" is normal.  I cannot explain the rest.  I am having issues where I click on a topic, read it, and the topic stays bold even though I read it.  The only way I can fix this is by refreshing (F5) the page.  This happens in any browser currently developed.

Best regards,

Jim
