December 26, 200421 yr Hi,Is it possible to turn the 'head bob' off in the virtual cockpit? I mean this nasty feature of immitating pilot's head movements according to aircraft movements.. it makes clicking on spots difficult in tough situations...
December 26, 200421 yr Since this is not a regular MSFS option, I guess you've got some third party software to produce the "head bob" effect. Without knowing which software that is, your question is kind of hard to answer. However, if it's Active Camera, you can turn bobbing off in the settings, or adjust it to some lower level that doesn't make clicking too difficult.Have fun!Jaap Verduijn.
December 26, 200421 yr No, i don't mean the effect from active camera. It is default with FS2004, try taking off - you see the viewpoint is 'shaking', i mean to turn off this.
December 26, 200421 yr Commercial Member That is not a default FS2004 ability as far as I'm aware - the only things capable of creating that that I know of are Active Camera, the Realair Spitfire, and a TrackIR. December 26, 200421 yr Perhaps it's just turbulence? If that's the case, you can turn it off in your weather options.
December 26, 200421 yr Never seen anything of the kind without a third party add-on. So if you're sure that you're running a "pure" FS9, the interesting question is not "How does one turn it off?", but "How did YOU turn it ON?"Jaap Verduijn.
December 26, 200421 yr Not so fast, guys. It actually IS an FS9 feature. In the fs9.cfg file, in the [REALISM] section, ensure the setting GEffect=False is there.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Washington, DC Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case
December 27, 200421 yr Actually, G effects in MSFS applies to blackouts and redouts from high positive and negative G forces, and has nothing to do with head bobbing effects.
December 27, 200421 yr Yep, after some more research I think you're right...I must be confusing it with the G-effects on the new Spitfire.CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Washington, DC Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case
December 27, 200421 yr The question still remains: did "entech" stumble upon a hidden feature of FS9? Sure looks like it, so again I say: it seems less important how to turn it OFF, than figuring out how he turned it ON in the first place!Be well!Jaap Verduijn.
