January 2, 200521 yr Well IL 2 when it released actually had more detail than many of the fps games at the time but that was quite remarkable for sure :) But hopefully FS 2004 have support for many of the features found in the video. Normal mapping actually enhance the performance and better special effects is always something I have dreamed off and better damage modelling. Though damage modelling we will probably never see because I don
January 2, 200521 yr Nice video ogvist! This for once makes it very clear what sort of stoneage we are still flying. All those who are telling the graphics of FS2004 are good enough, seem to be more concerned aboutloosing all their addons than the very much needed advancement of flight simulator.I don't own alot payware addons, so it's easy for me to go with the advancement. But their will come a time anyway, where all addons will most likely have to be redesigned more or less from scratch. It's only a question of time really. I'd love to see a engine in place which would be extremly scalable, leaving still enormous room for improvement so future addons may work for a long time again. That said, if MS is doing FS2006 the decision is allready made some time ago.cheers,Claudio
January 2, 200521 yr Yeah but I can understand both peoples viewpoint. Still I have a lot of add ons but nothing stop you from running FS 2004 and FS 2006 simultaneously if you would wish. Though with all the improvements possible with a new game engine I think few would want to stick with the old.FS 2004 and such isn
January 2, 200521 yr >>> What I would like to see modelled is an Emergency program>which can make all sorts of things happen or not as you fly.>I know there is something in FS9 which can make an engine fail>etc etc, but this program would include, or rather would be,>one in which you would never know what was going to happen or>when-> If my memory is correct, Ive seen something like this in the past few years on http://Flightsim.com It can alter the settings in FS to turn off instruments or the engine, and even start an engine fire, etc... It may be listed under Misc.
January 2, 200521 yr Just keeping this post going. This is WHY we have a forum, for viewpoints like these.TJ
