December 31, 201312 yr A recent flight I completed using Auto Time Compression in the new PMDG T7, from Montreal Airport (CYUL/YUL) in Quebec, Canada to Dubai Airport (OMDB/DXB) in the United Arab Emirates. The route is below, and attached is the OFP of the flight... UL R17 YLQ J593 YQB J560 YRI J568 YGP J572 YJT J581 YQX NATW GISTI DCT NIPIT UN537 MAC UN562 SAB UL983 PETIL L983 AMRAM P60 ODN L975 ELVIX L621 ROE L983 RANOK B120 KRD A926 LAKOD L748 BUGOR G724 LAMAG R374 TUMIT G476 MASOL T242 NALEM R114 BA G118 ER B947 GUSLI L125 OGEVI N77 MAGRI UR654 ZAJ R654 PEKAM UP574 SYZ G666 ORSAR B416 DESDI DESD6B ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ After pushback from Gate 57, with both engines running and the before taxi flows in progress. It's a short taxi from here to 06R, which is to be our departure runway. With a missed approach and three aircraft to wait for before takeoff, we finally blast into the chilly Quebec evening skies. For the essence of time we're skipping waypoint YRI, and continuing directly northeast towards the Atlantic. Only in the T7 will one ETOPS alternate suffice for the PFPX planning! It's to be a long night ahead. Daybreak over Eastern Europe. We've followed NATW over to Ireland, and from there our route took us over England and the North Sea before making a turn south towards the Middle East and Dubai. A problem with the autopilot caused this turn to the left, over the clouds above western Russia. Below is the snow-covered farmland of the region, but we won't be in the cold weather for long! Finally, after the 13hr+ flight, we've begun our descent on the DESD6B STAR into OMDB. Because of the possibility of time-saving, we've eliminated the sidestep of this approach, and opted instead for the straight in to runway 12R, on the ILS. To the left of us lies Kish Island, and the Middle East sun is a big change from the cold weather of Montreal. With Dubai to the right, and the runway straight ahead, we lower flaps full and conduct our final landing checks. Speedbrake armed, autobrake level 3, and gear on its way down. Touchdown is only a minute away. With a final sweep over the airport grounds, we conclude the flight. Local time is around 9:15AM. With a firm touchdown and rapid deceleration, we take the high speed exit, retract the flaps and taxi parallel to both runways on our way to our gate. Just minutes later we set the brakes at the new concourse, and the double jetways connect to the fuselage, thus marking the end of our journey. Now it's time to let another crew take over, and walk off into the increasing Middle Eastern sunlight.
