January 1, 201412 yr I took off today out of PHKO, (Kona) in the 377 SkyMaster. I wanted to see if I could head up and over the highest peak on the island, and settled from sea level into my climb. Well...I was just slightly below the crest of the mountain, on the airport side...and amongst some clouds, being at nearly 10,000 feet! I still had a few hundred feet to climb, to clear the ridge. I saw something in the distance, about 900 feet below the crest on a slight 3 degree slope, and decided to get closer. To my utter amazement, it turned out to be a rock formation, resembling a cone...but was still too far away to focus into details. Then...all of a sudden, a massive smoke plume shot straight up, and then wafted away. As I flew closer, the sides of the cone, had signs of red lava flow, and it became clear that this was a lava spout. RIGHT AT THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN!!! Well...I did my fly over, and using the 'V' key, grabbed four fast snaps of the action.... I am amazed at the detail, whether it be in stock FSX, or this lava spout/cone is in FSX Global. I don't know for sure...but certainly did NOT expect to see this Easter Egg at nearly 10,000 A.S.L.! So....just when you THINK you have pretty much seen it all...guess again. If you want to try and find it...be my guest, and have fun. Take off from PHKO, and then head towards the highest elevations of the island. See if you can locate and spot the lava spout....either by its plume trail, or actually seeing and taking your flight over it. Have fun...and who knows what other Easter Eggs are in the FSX/FSXG world.... Happy New Year, all! Ses

January 1, 201412 yr Author Here's some views I snapped of the volcanic cone, courtesy of a Delta jumpseat. Enjoy! IMG_5125.JPG IMG_5126.JPG Thank you for the pics! WOW....I just came back to say that I was having a blast with the 28 FSXG freeware airports, from ORBX that I had not downloaded until this morning, ( I only had the first three packs installed...) including fabulous FSXG Hawaiian airports across all the Islands, from Package 6, and it actually (FSX/FSXG v1.20) looks quite accurate. I was just out for a what's-it flight, and decided to check out the climb characteristics of the Sky Master, by ascending directly toward the upward slope of the mountain, and as I said, was just about under a thousand feet from the apex...when I saw that animated spouting cone... Having a blast, as always...and on a snowy first day of 2014! Flying around the islands of Hawaii and the Caribbean is keeping me warm..... Most places taking off from, are at around 88 F! ASN and the animated water textures of REX4 (Default Medium Global water, with the animation of Glimmer(....FABULOUS depictions of both the Hawaiian Chain, and the Carib....
