Of the six products listed in Stormtrooper's Starter Post, I have the first four - the ATR, Jetstream, Fokker and Q400.

My expertise in FSX, flight simming and computers in general is somewhat limited. Therefore, read my comments subject to that rider.

The sequence of my purchases were the Fokker first, the Jetstream, the ATR and then the Q400.

In my opinion, the cockpits of the Fokker and ATR are nowhere near the standard of the Jetstream and Q400 or of many add-on planes released in the last year or so.

Despite that, I prefer flying the Fokker and Jetstream to flying the other two even though I find the Fokker and the ATR the easiest of the four to fly.

Mention has been made of the Majestic Dash 8-300. I have that as well. I find it easier to fly and looks better than the Q400. It's a pity that the 300 does not appear to be for sale any more except for a Training version costing over $200.

Seems like the Q400 has a lot of fans lol.

For good reason.  The Q400 is amazing.  Nice VC and model.  FDE feels amazing (even better with latest version).  Sounds are extremely immersive also and their support and forums are top notch.

Go get it.

i would also recommend the q400, it's great.

the js4100 in my opinion is also excellent. the slightly-finicky engine mechanics makes it very interesting and unique in my opinion. this plane (and ezdok) were pretty much what got me to using vc all the time instead of 2d panels.

for a plane not from your list i would also recommend having a look at the twin otter from aerosoft.

haven't used the others so i can't comment on those.

cheers
