January 8, 201412 yr When flying on Vatsim let's say I'm at Gatwick and want to contact delivery but there is no one at delivery what do I do? Tune to the frequency. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
January 8, 201412 yr You should read the vatsim manuals etc but when there is nobody controlling you text your intentions on unicom on frequency 122.80 However if there are controllers in your area that is a position above you contact them. So let's say you're sitting at the gate but delivery isnt on but tower is, you'd contact the tower. Same with DEP or APP or CTR. Careful in London as there are four seperate sectors most of the time. And one won't control the whole area. By the way it goes DEL GND TWR APP/DEP CTR And then in some cases there's FSS. Hope this helps. If you have anymore specific questions just ask Lee
January 8, 201412 yr Author Tune to the frequency. Tune to what freq? the delivery? But there is no delivery!
January 8, 201412 yr Tune to what freq? the delivery? But there is no delivery! UNICOM, then. 122.8. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
January 8, 201412 yr Tune to what freq? the delivery? But there is no delivery! In a previous example Lee posted where delivery isn't on, but tower is, you would tune to tower. The reason is that on VATSIM, they offer what is called top-down service, so a higher controller would control their airspace as well as the airspace below it. So clearance delivery only does clearance delivery. Ground would do ground, but if clearance delivery isn't on, they would do clearance delivery. Tower normally does tower, but if ground and clearance delivery aren't on, tower is responsible for both. If the only controller online is center, center would be responsible for their airspace along with approach, tower, ground, and clearance delivery. Make sense? If no controller is online, then you would tune to the advisory frequency of 122.8. Captain Kevin Air Kevin 124 heavy, wind calm, runway 4 left, cleared for take-off. Live streams of my flights here.
January 9, 201412 yr Take a look at the vatsim-uk.co.uk website. They offer a comprehensive pilot training program. I recommend you look into it. Best wishes Callum McLoughlin
