Troubles with Edit Voice Pack and UT2 (FSX)

Featured Replies

Finally added cargo to my Ultimate Traffic 2 schedule and thought itd be nice to hear ATC call out FedEx and UPS. Installed Edit Voice Pack and now ATC is so quiet. Im seeing planes land that never call in on tower frequency and skys full of traffic that seem to never interact with ATC like they used to. Anyone have any similar experience or know how I can correct this? Thanks

I don't have UT2, but some questions:

  1. Are you saying that there is now no  interaction at all between any AI planes and ATC ? Or just the cargo planes ?
  2. Does ATC still talk to you in your aircraft OK ?
  3. When you installed EVP, what did you did you do (or try to do) with it ?

Thanks for trying to help me.

 1. There is interaction but it seems to be only departing aircraft on the tower frequency,  Ive witnessed dozens of planes (cargo, commercial and GA) land at places like KJFK that never say a word to the tower. Before I installed this I could hear incoming aircraft on the tower frequency.

 2. Atc still communicates with me just fine.

 3. When I installed EVP, I checked the community options and installed those, I think at first I opted to speed up ATC one click and changed the last option to FAA ATC.

I just dont hear the amount of traffic that I used to even though my UT2 settings have not changed. With UT2 slider set at 85% I had very busy radio chatter now it seems to be cut in half. I wished there was just an easy way to get the atc to say fedex and ups without having to install anything else.

JasonW, did you check that atc_airline section in aircraft.cfg match description in edit voice pack? when adding callsign in voice pack don't forget save and update it. I have both these programs and used to add fedex and ups - all worked well.

Yeah I checked the Cargo planes that I added as I was getting the textures added to the models. I havent added anything else to UT2 yet. Before EVP I heard most of my airlines called out with the default ATC. I even tried to reinstall UT2 last night but noticed the same behavior going on.

I havent added any call sign manually since I saw EVP came with FedEx and Ups but I did save after I made my selection in the menu.

I expect you did this, but in order for the airlines to be recognised you have to Update Voice Pack from the File menu in EVP and make sure you select the option to Update Airline list. Just saving the changes in EVP has no effect.

Could you provide screens of your aircraft.cfg for any for example fedex craft and edit voice pack fedex section.

Yes but my FedEx planes seem to be working fine its random airlines (ai) that arent calling in on atc, airlines that before EVP were calling in fine on default ATC.
