January 5, 200521 yr Do the default 'Wind Socks' in FS2k4 display the proper wind direction??? On my system that doesn't seem to be the case because ATC always clears me to a runway contrary to the direction the wind sock is blowing. Instead of a runway that puts my jet into the wind I end up cleared for the exact opposite... January 5, 200521 yr Hmm...I've always noticed that the windsocks appear to blow in the correct wind direction. As far as ATC, there have been some issues about runway assignments not matching up perfectly with the wind, but I do believe the windsocks blow correctly.-Marc
January 5, 200521 yr Marc, You are very correct in your reply to Dillon. The wind sock always in the correct position to the wind. The problem to Dillon's observation is twofold. First depending on what AFCAD he has installed the runway on many aiports that is into the wind is not active for takeoffs. Next when FS9 loads it may not have the correct traffic load. FSUIPC has a facility that allows you to force FS to reload traffic once you have the correct weather download for the day. I use this on everyflight after ActiveSky loads the current weather. The AFCAD issue is much more the culprit for the ATC problem.CheersBob
January 6, 200521 yr In my experience, they have always been correctly displayed, and even correctly show wind speed and gusts.----------------------------------------------------------------John S.
