January 13, 201412 yr Hi I just found out amazing option in dx10 scenery fixer Maybe it is obvious to some of you but under cloud shaders there is a cloud cull option which is unticked by default - from what I've read it slightly reduces cloud complexity which are further than 10sm Now what this gave me? When using Rex direct + ASN + dx 10 and PMDG 737 NGX with 4xsgssaa my 660ti was facing 99-% Gpu usage due to cloud anti aliasing which resulted in 10 FPS. After setting cloud cull on = my sim is maxed out on the settings, Lod 6.5, enhanced overcast conditions in ASN and over 20 FPS all time, avg 35. I don't see reduced cloud complexity with ASN but I see increased performance - and I really adore it! Thank You Steve! Tomasz Zawadzki
January 14, 201412 yr Author Ok... I was too happy - hit my first OOM running all the mods with ftx global, fs global and vector under dx10... Need to back my Lod to 6.0 and autogen to very dense and will retest Tomasz Zawadzki
January 14, 201412 yr If you are using LOD 6.5 with ASN, you are going to OOM. I would slide back to 4.5. You need to balance your system. System: MSFS2024, ASUS Rog Stryx Z790-A, Intel i9-14900KF, Asus ROG Ryujin III 360 , Asus Hyperion Case,Rog Stryx 4090 OC, Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD, 1Tb Samsung 860 EVO SSD,64Gb G Skill Memory, Asus Aura 1200W Gold PSU,Win 11 ,LG C4 48" 4K OLED Screen., Airbus TCA Full Kit, Stream Deck XL. WinWing FCU, EFIS, MCDU
January 15, 201412 yr Author Thanks! Yesterday I tested with 6.0 checking vas all the time and it started with around 2.4 gb with all addons I have. I also flew over Paris for 1 hour in NGX and vas didn't raise that much. Autogen to very dense. It seems that ASN+cloud cull combo works nice. Still I will try lower Lod if any problem comes up Tomasz Zawadzki
