January 15, 201412 yr In a few weeks I will be building my new rig. I currently have a Samsung 840 EVO SSD with Windows 7 64 bit OEM, my question is - will I have problems with installing the SSD into my new build with the OS being OEM? I do believe OEM OS is tied to your motherboard, so seeing as though I will have a new motherboard will I have to reinstall Windows on the EVO?
January 15, 201412 yr Is it a Win7 OEM disc? That's what I use. It installs fine. I've never had activation issues with my Windows discs. If it's a "backup" or "recovery" disc from a computer that came from Best Buy et al, it usually won't work. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
