"DEFAULT" Panel Load State missing from FMC...?

Recommended Posts

I saved my flight just prior to TO following the tutorial in the PMDG manual.  I also SAVED my Panel State via the FMC so that everything would be where it was upon reloading the flight.

No in my saved panel states I only have the LH/SH and C&D panel states.

Why did the "DEFAULT" disappear?

I was careful not to save over any of the other panel states...

I also noticed that when you SAVE a flight within the FSX main menu the 777 Panel State at the time of the save is completely saved automatically and added to the FMC Panels LOAD section.

Am I in deep poo without the "DEFAULT" Panel State now...?

Thanks

There is no panel state called "DEFAULT" as far as I know. You set the default panel state to CLDDRK, LONG, or SHORT in the FMC options and It will load that when you start a flight from the Free Flight menu in FSX. If you load from a saved flight the panel state that was saved with the flight will always override the default panel state.

Yes, "DEFAULT" was an Option in the FMC along with Cld&Drk, LONG/SHORT after I Saved my Panel in the tutorial flight the "DEFAULT" option disappeared.

If I start with the 777 in Free Flight I just want the DEFAULT Panel state to load and not either of the aforementioned options nor a SAVED Panel State.

I'm trying to determine if this is a bug or if this will happen when you save your very first panel state causing the "DEFAULT" option to disappear.

I saw someone else ask this very same question in another post in here somewhere with no answer.

So obviously I'd say it's a common issue intended or not.

Thanks.

There is no Default startup state.  However if you delete the existing startup state from the startup panel state in the FMC (using the delete key), it will start up w/ engines running and systems on.
