Displaylink Monitor -> Fatal Error

Featured Replies

Hello

Has anyone had any luck getting a USB monitor to work with P3DV2? I connected my new 9" USB monitor, the game would crash as soon as i try and load into the game (fatal error). It uses displaylink drivers which installed itself once i connected the monitor.

Ditto - but good news.  LM has updated the bug list and and this is now noted.  Yeah!

Excellent news, thanks for the heads up!

I just got a mimo 720S touch screen today, and then found this thread. :mellow: I installed the DisplayLink drivers just to try it, but no luck. That being said the "fix list" LM has ready for us is awesome! Cant wait!

Uhm.. Was this fixed in either 2.1 or 2.2? It's still giving me "Fatal Error" once i hit "Fly Now". Un-plugging the USB monitor cures this..

It was not fixed in 2.1 but I have not tried it myself (or heard anything) about it working in 2.2. I'm thinking of just selling my touchscreen off if it's not fixed.

Found a work around. Not really convenient but it works. Let the game load into the flight, then plug the monitor in.

I have found that if I launch into the Sim from loading a saved scenario as opposed to the initial scenario screen, the Sim works with my DisplayLink monitors connected. If however, I go into the settings or modify time of day or certain other views, the Sim will fatal error when I attempt to exit back into the Sim.

I'm curious if you would see the same.

If so, there is something about how the Sim loads from certain views that is upsetting the rendering process....where other views are OK. So once again, for me . I start the Sim which is set to start up at the scenario view. I then use the load option to select and load my presaved mission... All is well.
