Prepware Product Question

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am currently at Florida Tech training for my commercial multi and I've been using the commercial prepware product for my written knowledge test studying tool. However I have heard mixed opinions on it regarding its currency. Some people have said that they don't use the current FAA questions while others say they do. My instructor told me to use sheppard air instead but as I've already bought prepware, I want to make sure that these statements are true.

Any ideas?

Regards,

Harry.

FAA Multi Commercial Pilot/Flight Instructor

Hi Harry,

I too suggest Sheppard Air to all of my students. It's well updated, and is much more refined than Gleims (which is what I'm assuming you've got, or of the likes). Some consider Sheppard Air a little controversial of course because of how they get some of their questions, but it helps students pass. I personally used it back when they only had the ATP, FOI, FIA, and FII prepware. My scores were 92, 98, and 100 and was out the door each test in less than 15 minutes. Studying with that material makes the writtens very quick and painless.

Now, I could play grumpy instructor and say if you study your ground instruction there is no reason you should not pass your written ^_^ , but being real there are many questions on the writtens that are easily confused and sometimes extremely frustrating as you probably well know from your Private and Instrument. Good luck!

Regards,

Kyle
