You have to open up your scenery.cfg (the working one is located in your C:\Program Data\Microsoft\FSX hidden folder).  Scroll down to area 123.  Does the scenery exist or did you delete it.  Sometimes when you uninstall a program it will remove the program but won't remove the entry in the scenery.cfg.  If you get SceneryConfigEditor, it will see these errors and will fix them for you.

Hi Jim

Once again thanks, seem to be burdening you alot this week, Jim do you do marriage counselling as well? ha,ha

yes took your advice from a previous post and installed the Scenery Config Editor, after the error message and red message in the scenery config editor highliting my problem airport, I uninstalled that particular airport and reinstalled it from SiMarket again, I checked my scenery config scrolled down to Area 123 and all the scenery was there, and I checked FSX to see if scenery was correctly installed, all was in place. However on all start-ups the same error message returned and the airport was okay on the Scenery Config Editor. Not sure if i should be manually inputting any other data into the Area 123, or if indeed the present data is correct or deficient.

Haven't done a flight yet, this airport is always fine on load-up but when I land the terminals have all vanished.

Think my computer could benefit from an Exorcist Jim, also many thanks for the Fix for my other problem with the menu crashes, worki time here  in Japan now so i'll pop the fix in later and let you know, you said having looked at the APPCrash View Data that it could have been a Variant download problem, certainly maybe with the FSX/PMDGs reinstalls i've been doing, anyway will give the fix a whirl later.

Thanks Jim as always for your kind support !

Hi Richard,

Not a problem.  I'm glad I'm able to help.  The error message is generated by the scenery.cfg.  Did you save the fixes you made in the Scenery Config Editor?  Also, make sure that Area 123 is not a duplicate where your reinstall gave the scenery a correct scenery area/layer but your old one still exists.  In the Scenery Config Editor, click on Actions in the menu and then fix duplicate area numbers and also the bottom menu that says Reset Area numbers and Layers.  Make sure you save the config if any changes are made.  Another action you can do whether this recommendation works or not is to follow the guidance in the AVSIM CTD Guide, page 3, which states:

"Delete/Rebuild your Facilities/Scenery Indexes and Shader Folders – Periodically delete your Facilities/Scenery Indexes located in Program Data/Microsoft/FSX.  Delete the Facilities and Scenery folders.  Delete the Shader folders located in AppData/ (your user name)/Local/Microsoft/FSX/Shader10 and Shader folders. When you restart FSX, these folders will be rebuilt.  It has been known to fix some CTD’s."
