Blank Lower EICAS (systems) Display

Featured Replies

I have just bought the 737 NGX package but the lower centre EICAS is always blank.  If I click on this display it just brings up an enlarged blank screen.  Is there an option I have to turn on to get this display to become active?

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes.

You need to have the PFD/ND option and not the Side-by-Side option (this is set through your PMDG Setup menus).  Additionally, there are two buttons (ENG and SYS) above the upper EICAS screen that allow you to select which synoptic you want (ENGine or SYStems).  The intro manual goes into more detail about what all of the different settings mean and do, so I suggest giving that a read.

To the left of the auto brake knob are 2 little buttons with hfs written above it.

These select which info will be displayed on the bottom screen. (Engine stats or hydraulic sys info)

also make sure that both knobs on top of your left 2 screens are in the NORM position.

Normal procedure in the real world is to double push the eng button I mentioned above after engine start, which blanks the bottom screen. This way if an engine parameter goes out of its limitations, the engine info will pop up on the screen by itself and attract your attention.

Most of the guys I have flown with leave the ENG display on the lower DU all the time. While the display will pop up automatically, most seem to prefer having the information displayed all the time.
