Robinson R22 and R44 freeware AI model/light model?

Featured Replies

Hi,

just a question: I'm looking for either an AI model or a light flyable model of the Robinson R22 and R44 helicopters each with a handful of repaints to replace my old Just Flight Traffic 2005 models. I have so far replaced all of these models with exception of these two helicopters; commercial air traffic for long now by AIA/DJC and later FAIB models and GA traffic by either AI models or simple flyable models. A point to where to get a simple R22 and/or R44 would be fine, testing it under AI conditions would be my turn. So far I only found the R22 for FS2002 by Gilles Arlove - it would be worth a test, but unfortunately there are no repaints (I need three or four of them for each the R22 and the R44).

Thanks in advance!

Harald

You're ahead of me, then - I've never found an R22 or R44 for AI!

I always resort to the stock R22 (which actually isn't too bad), strip out the panel and sound, and it's quite fine.

I use it as is in my Flight1 AI helicopter package.

The JF R44 by the way, is a brilliant and underrated model.

And it's .air file will work as AI model? Then I have at least the solution for the R22. Will try tomorrow - it's midnight in Germany.

Thanks!

No... you have to replace it with the Stemme .air file, and fiddle the contact points, as you would all helo's for AI.

That's the big advantage of the Flight 1 AI helo pack, it uses any flyable plane.

WingZ, I realized a little misunderstanding in our communication: The R22 model said above isn't for AI, I would have to convert it.

Until now I did so by using the .air files of the old JF AI models. This resulted in unexpected behaviour with a freeware JetRanger model. Obviously this model is indeed designed to fly and only to fly. I will try with the default JetRanger and the stemme .air file.

I decided, however, to stay with the JF AI models for the Robinson helicopters. They are not bad compared to the JetRanger and the Eurocopters, which I replaced with UTTs offerings by the way.

O.K., I got it. I use the stock B206 with the modified .air file as AI plane exclusively now. I used the useful package "aiheli_1.zip" by Holger Sandmann for FS2002, works well with the FS2004 stock heli.
