The dreaded error 1309

Featured Replies

I desperately need help with reinstalling FSX.

I followed the uninstall guides, uninstalled all FSX related programs, eliminated all traces of flight simulator from the registry, UAC and anti virus/spyware are off, installing as admin, ran the license reset and the Windows installer clean-up but I am still getting Error 1309.

Error reading from file: K:\program files\Microsoft
Games\Flight Simulator X\licenses\ client-issuance-ood.Xfm-ms. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

I can't find anything else to try besides an OS reinstall which would be a BIG, complex deal!

It gets all the way through but I get the error before I can enter the product keys.

If anyone has solved this before, I would very much appreciate some guidance.

Please help, I am experiencing severe Flight Sim withdrawal!

Dont install it to the programs files for one thing!

Did you check to see if this folder/file exists?  Did you right click it to see if it can be shared or is shared with everyone?

It looks like you did not completely uninstall FSX and the registry cleaner did not clean out everything.  Not exactly sure why you uninstalled the product in the first place.  When you reinstall FSX you need to run it as administrator and you need to make sure UAC is turned off and you need to make sure any anti-virus program is not running during the reinstallation.

Uninstall again using the PMDG uninstall/reinstall guide.  Run a registry cleaner before reinstalling.  Clean out any temporary folder especially your User temp Users/your name/appdata/local/temp.  Delete everything in that folder.  Reinstall.

If this does not work, then you will have to reinstall Windows.  A google search revealed no solutions and recommended the procedures I described above (except I threw in the deleting of all the files/folders in the temp directory.
