issue when loadind a saved flight

Featured Replies

When I want, in Radar Contact, to load a saved flight, I can choose the right path and click on the good rcd file, but nothing happens and, after a while, I get a message  "can't load xxx.flt" which yet exists in the same directory.

Have I done something wrong ?

Thanks for your help

Did you set in RC the .flt/.wx path? That is a separate setting not related to browsinf to load your flight plan (but it usually is the same folder).

Do not cancel out of the browser when setting this path or you can corrupt two of the RC data files. It would not hurt to back up keyboard.dat and rcv3.dat to a separate folder for restoration if needed.

Ronzie,

Yes I set the flt/wx path in RC.I can see it in the RC options: .FLT/.WX Path = C:\Users\Utilisateur\Documents\Fichiers Flight Simulator X.

I found a solution, I'm not sure it's the good one, but it works everytimes: just load a cessna flight before to load my RC flight (usually a 737 NGX).

Good to know, Thanks.

Make a default aircraft, perhaps the default 737, your default flight parked with the clear weather theme. Another good one is the King Air. The default flight in FS loads before menus, etc., initializing the engine components of FS. This avoids you manually loading a default aircraft.

A lot of the 737NGX models work outside of FS standards so all of the components do not get intialized when FS starts.

In your FSX or other FS folder under modules, look at fsuiipc.log and you'll see as FS starts it will load your default flight setup. If you then load a flight vias the menus, look at that log again and you will see both the default followed by your selected flight.

Avionics should be on for RC to work.
