February 27, 201412 yr During flight near North pole I received several "advisories" from ATC telling me that I was "off course, fly heading xxx". All indications were that I was on course. Is this RCV4 behavior to be expected near the poles? Thank you, Ken Boardman Ken Boardman
February 27, 201412 yr Actually, FS itself gets flaky above a certain latitude causing some NAV instruments that rely on magnetic fields to give false indications. Real world pilots switch to true heading above as certain latitude. Similarly they do the same below a certain latitude for the south pole.
