  I've downloaded and installed my Academic version of P3D_2 and tried to install the patch off the download page.  I keep getting a "windows Installer" error pop-up window saying " the upgrade patch cannot be installed by the windows installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, etc, etc."  P3D_v2 is installed in the default C:\Programs files (x86) as default by the installation. 

 

Any ideas??

Have you used version 2 without problems ... prior to trying to install the 2.1 patch?

 

And you are not using a helper program (like Estonia) to install either?

 

What is you Windows version?

You can also download the full P3D v2.1 version and install it following the LM advise. After this get the hotfix and put the content into the P3D v2.1 root.

By the way, to have P3D v2 installed in the MS standard program folder is not a good idea. Better to use something like this.

C:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2
