Hey guys,

 

I have come up this term flight following quite a lot of times but actually didnt know what is was. I am guessing it has something to do with radar contact. Could someone please tell what Flight Following means??

It's an optional service provided by ATC for VFR aircraft. They can give you traffic alerts while enroute. You simply call the controller and request flight following. They will give you a squawk code and identify you on radar. But since your VFR, your still have the primary responsibility of maintaining separation, but it helps if your flying in some busy airspace.
