Does someone know what would cause program icons to be lost?

 

I have recently noticed that the RC4 radar icon is no longer reflected on my desktop. The shortcut is still there, but just has default non-program icon. When I select 'properties' and 'change icon' I can see the radar icon, but when clicking 'apply' and 'OK' nothing changes.

 

I did have some problem opening the program (nothing happened), before the icon disappeared, but now the program still seems to open properly, but the icon has gone.

 

Is this a Windows issue, or a problem with the 'exe', and does anyone know how to resolve?

It is probably a Win issue. If you go to the rcv4 folder, do you see rcv4.exe and does it open? If that's OK just recreate the shortcut on your desktop.

 

Otherwise you may need a reinstall. If so place a copy of rcv3.dat and keyboard.dat in a separate new Windows folder for safety. Those contain preferences and importantly your key. This current key will work if you reinstall in the same location you previously used and on the same non-reformatted disk drive.
