Zip file error

Featured Replies

Hi

I have just bought a copy of FS2Crew_MJC8_Q400_Voice (Order number: #37029) and downloaded it using "Down them all" download manager. The download appeared to have arrived successfully, but when I went to unzip it, I got the error message:

"An unexpected error is keeping you from copying the file. If you continue to receive this error, you can use the error code to search for help with this problem.

Error 0x80004005: Unspecified error"

I did some research and tried downloading it again with Norton 360 turned off, but I have got the same message again.

I've used "Down them all" for all my other software downloads with no problem and have never had a problem unzipping files.

Can you give me some advice on how to resolve this please?

Colin

Edit: I've just tried unzipping the file on another computer and received the same error message.

Hi Colin,

Your download is corrupt.

Likely a server or switch between us and you timed out causing the corruption.

We see this from time to time from users in countries with spotty internet, like NZ or SA.

Please try again.

File size should be a little over 260 MBs.

A lot of people have successfully downloaded the file.

Cheers,

Ok, thanks Bryan. I'll give it another go.

Hi

I have just gone to my FS2Crew account to try and download the file again and it says: "FS2Crew_MJC8_Q400_Voice.zip (252.71 MB)

This file can no longer be downloaded as it has expired."

Can you please reset this so that I can try another download?

Thanks
Colin

Hi Bryan

Resolved!

Thanks for your advice, I have finally been able to download an uncorrupted version and have now installed it. Interestingly, after many different variables, the successful download was made without a download manager - weird!

Anyway, I am about to sit down with a cup of coffee and study the manual before having a go at using the product.

Thanks for the support and fast responses.

Cheers

Colin,

Glad you got it downloaded okay.

FYI, 90 percent of reports of corrupt downloads originate from New Zealand users.

And here's why... NZ only has "one" underwater internet cable connecting it to the world...

This makes for spotty internet at times.
