Two things are being used:

 

One is the Firefox detection of the login/password request and the second is the site placing a cookie on your PC when you tell the site to remember your login.

 

For me, I use Firefox and I have to type the first letter of my user name to bring up the dropdown and after selecting that it fills that in and the password saved in Firefox. Those are Firefox actions, not a site cookie.

 

BTW:

 

I just installed version 55 of version 7 per a Javascript notice icon that activates when an update is available.

 

When java updated it asked if I wanted the Ask Toolbar and in the past if I wanted to install Mcafee anti-virus both which I rejected.
