Daryll:The latency ATI sets is 248 (as determined from default powerstrip settings under the read only default) on the X800XT card. One thing I did do was to adjust all the latencies on my system to 32 and the X800XT to 128. Frame rates averaging around 35-50 fps (improvement of about 15 fps with this configuration).

Bob,I found 481 problems with something like 380 in the registry alone. I just bought the program and it cleaned them all up in about 30 seconds. Now I hope FS9 runs better.

On my system, this annoying problem was caused by an empty TEXTURE file in my ADDON SCENERY directory.Once this was removed, the problem dissappeared.
