April 19, 201412 yr this has been a problem since I have had MCE (few years now),I have just ignored it because I had so many other inconsistences dealing with. Most of the kinks seem to be ironed out now so I thought I would turn here to sort this out. 90% of the time MCE will not recognize a request for a 'west' departure. I can see my phraseology is correct in the display at the top of my screen but I do not get the recognition flash in my atc window. Sometimes it accepts my request for a 'west' departure as a 'straight out departure'. even if I have my co pilot make the 'request' it is interpreted as a request for 'straight out departure' To transmit a request for west departure I have to say the option number. I have searched the forums for a solution, but it appears I am the only one with this problem as I see no mention of a similar problem, and the situation persists with each new version so I am left to conclude now one else has this situation. I should note that every thing else (at least the features I use) seem to work fine 90% of the time. any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Robin. Robin
April 20, 201412 yr I have to admit I don't do western departures very often, but today I did a few just to check, and they all worked fine. So I don't think there is a general problem. If the text shows good, then I would have expected the right option to activate. Even more so if the FO requests it. Maybe the developers will have some ideas.

Most times I get the red on screen display showing that I used the correct phrase, still I get clearance for straight out departure. other times no display, and no indication from ATC that anything was transmitted. MCE constantly monitors the content of the ATC window. It is crucial information is retrieved in a timely manner, otherwise no selection will take place. Temporarily switch FO voice to one of available TTS voices (Usually Microsoft Anna). Pre-recorded voices are great but cannot speak unpredictable text, With Anna as your FO, keep asking her any time you want, and particularly when options for taxi are displayed "What are the ATC options" or "confirm ATC options". Anna should be able to read aloud the content of the ATC window. If everything looks norrmal, you can switch back to using recorded voices. Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com

Anna was able to read the content of the ATC window. Using Anna as my copilot gives the same scenario as the recorded voices. Only difference I observed is that the recorded voices (at least, Bill), is not able to read out the contents of the ATC window. Thanks for working with me on this. Awaiting your next suggestion.
