4770k and 780Ti

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just configured a new system,

4770K @ 4.5

780Ti

2400mhz cas 10 RAM

Orbx Vector + Global

REX

Was wondering what settings people are using? I'm just getting to grips with 2.2. Could really do with a good steer what effects fps and stutters, and if there is any "must do tweeks" in Nvidia control etc.

Thanks for any help

James.

S-s-s-tutter much James? Many posts!  LOL - it happens to all of us every now and then.

Each system is going to be different. There are no must have tweaks  - just set your CPU affinity mask to use all cores with HT off.

From then on - use MSI Afterburner (or something similar) to monitor the GPU %  and adjust settings to keep it below 99%. I'd suggest leaving your FPS at whatever default P3D set for you and work from there. Once you get something that seems to work overall you can play with the FPS.

My personal observation is to go for the LOWEST FPS on your system that will give you smooth, stutter free operation. For me, that is 20FPS - and unless I'm looking at the FPS counter I cannot tell if it's 20FPS or 60FPS - smooth is smooth.

You'll find that IF you overload the GPU the FPS will suffer so watch that. Cloud shadows are a BIG hit on the GPU.

Go slowly and have fun - if you screw it up - delete the cfg file and let P3D build you a new one and start over.
