Changing Fuel Quantity Causes Engine Shut Down

Featured Replies

Whenever I adjust the fuel quantity in the FMC i.e. to 1/3 full the engines , which are already running, shut down. I have reloaded the program, but no change. If I start cold & dark the same thing happens. Any suggestions to cure the problem will be appreciated.

Hi Tony;

Don't know if this is a duplicate post or if no one ever answered your question. But I'll jump in here. In the real world, no one would fuel an aircraft with the engines running, with the exception of the military perhaps, during arial refueling or fast combat turn arounds, that's just way to unsafe. As far as the NGX goes I believe using the CDU to change fuel can change the state of the fuel pumps and probably the fuel use part of the simulation, resulting in starvation of the engines. I would highly recommend that you just never change fuel quantity while the engines are running.
