  1. I have never seen a repaint of the PMDG 737-600 NGX in Southwest canyon blue colors in the AVSIM library, just the desert gold livery. I have had no problem getting Weston Hall's liveries to install with the livery manager. Dave
  2. I fly on Southwest a lot for work. I routinely try to get a chance talk to the pilots when I can. All of the above is true except on of the captains recently said that Southwest still orders their new planes with analog standby gauges. So I think the only airframes with IFSD gauges are ones that were aquired from other sources. Dave
  3. Using Flightaware.com it's easy to find out what route is commonly being used between most North American airports. For KLAX to KLAS its... LOOP8 DAG KEPEC3 extremely easy to enter into the PMDG's FMC. Dave
  4. There's an EasyJet repaint in the AVSIM library, -700 and -800 I believe. Dave
  5. There's an Air Canada 738 already in the AVSIM library. Dave
  6. Turning the CDU off via the "Menu" button has never worked for me either. But the method mentioned in the above post will work to create a state where even the CDU is off when you load the plane. Dave
  7. As Kyle mentioned the short or long turn states are how most airline crews would find the aircraft as they arrive for work. I can tell you though, that when going through the tutorial as you are just learning the airplane, getting the airplane ready for flight from cold and dark will be slow. Once the flows and procedures are committed to memory and just checked via the check lists it gets much, much faster. I can get the NGX ready to fly from cold and dark in about the time it takes the IRSs to align, about 10 minutes. I do use the 'realistic' alignment time for the IRSs. On most of my flights though, I load the plane with the 'short' turn panel state. So the APU is running, IRSs are aligned, so all that's really needed is to program the FMC, set trim, configure the MCP and instruments, and I'm ready to push, maybe 5 minutes. Dave
  8. As Kyle said it is covered in the intro manual. During initial acceleration during takeoff it's possible, from time to time, for the overwing exit latches to indicate unlatched, momentarily. When this happens you'll the caution light will illuminate momentarily and then extinguish. It's a quirk of the real NG that PMDG has modeled in. I'm not sure at what point Richard's picture was taken especially since the hydraulic pumps don't seem to be properly configured for takeoff. Dave
  9. For me I've noticed that the YAW DAMPER will kick back to the off position unless the IRSs have finished aligning. Dave
  10. Just a guess, maybe the 'NGX Default' panel state got inadvertently saved over with some of the parameters changed. Try this, for 'STARTUP STATE' set nothing, delete any state in that spot. Now the aircraft should load in PMDG's built-in default state. If that works, then immediately save that as the new "NGX Default". Dave
  11. But that does look like a 737MAX and not an NG. Dave
  12. You might have a hard time finding a 737-900 in American livery as, to my knowledge, American doesn't own any 737-900s Dave
  13. I believe, in this case, the + or - before the number implies deviation (dev) because an absolute temp. would simply be stated as a number without the + or - Dave
  14. I could be wrong but I believe Boeing recommends a full realign during each turn (stop). Set the switches to off, wait for the lights to go out, then turn them on and wait for alignment. Do to subtle equipment imperfections and natural variances, it's a good idea to realign the IRSs when possible. It's unusual, and probably unsafe, to not shut the engines down during a stop. Presumably one is unloading and loading passengers and/or cargo, best done with the engines off. And, as long as the airplane has power the IRSs would stay on anyway. Boeing does provide a quick align supplementary procedure for those times where a full realign will take to long. But I think only running them all day with no realignments might lead to some significant drift error. Dave
  15. I could be wrong, I'll check when I get home. But I'm pretty sure that with the very latest installer that I have the engines when I look back at the wings from the VC and from the wing views I use. Dave
  16. I found charts online by searching "TNCM charts" via Google. The second link provided a PDF of the terminal procedures and approaches. No idea if they are "official" or not. Third link were some Jeppview charts. Dave
  17. Vernon, I've tried the LUA friction patch and I can tell you that for the PMDG I don't use it. For the NGX, anyway, it's seems much more realistic to me without the LUA friction fix in place. With the fix in place the NGX rolls much, much to easily. Dave
  18. To answer your question, no saving the panel state will not save the flight plan. Saving the panel state saves the condition of the panel switches and knobs at the time of the save, so saves the current state of the aircraft systems. To save the current flight plan in the FMS you would use the LSK next to 'save' on the first route (RTE) page of the CDU. You could also save the flight from the file menu in FS and that will also save everything else. So that when you reload the flight in FS, the NGX will be reloaded with the panel state and FMC data that was present at the time of the save. Dave BTW, this is another good reason to read the manuals that come with the product.
  19. Just a note that the GS display below the speed tape is an OPTION. So you may find some NGX panel configurations that have that option turned off. Dave
  20. Not sure what you mean by "from the addon tab in FSX" but I always enter forecast winds for the descent on the descent page 'forecast', in the CDU. Sometimes I enter them while still sitting at the departure gate during preflight and sometimes I enter them after I get to cruise. BTW I use ASN for weather and get the forecast winds from Simbrief and I've never had a problem with the matching up. Dave
  21. Same here, absolutely no issues with any ASN release and any of my aircraft. Dave
  22. I believe there are PFPX profiles specifically for the PMDG NGX in the AVSIM library already. If those are used I think the weight numbers will match. But, because the NGX will distribute the weight itself once entered in the CDU the CG will probably never be exactly the same, but it will be very close. Dave
  23. I own the PMDG 737NGX and not the JS4100 but doesn't the JS4100 have it's own FMS? So why would you need to add the GTN750? and FMS can do so much more. Dave
  24. Hmmm... I thought it was the HGTTG. Dave
  25. As I understand it, PMDG uses a highly customized and complex fuel and payload system in order to realistic simulate the airplane. So, you cannot use PFPX to set the payload and fuel. Once you have the payload and fuel numbers from PFPX, apply them to the airplane via the CDU as PMDG has designed. A full read if the introduction manual for the airplanes might also help on this topic. Dave
