Running FSX full screen under Win 8.1 causes problems.  Tell me what you were trying to do and give me the specs of your machine.  Search this forum for more answers and see my previous post about some ideas for running FSX under Win 8.1

Yeah, I've found full screen mode in Win8 also unstable. Windowed mode has been rock solid so far though.

This is why LM got rid of the true full screen mode for P3d2. The ersatz full screen mode in P3d2 is a maximized window with the border width set to zero. This workaround allows ALT key usage to other apps without ending up with video corruption and/or CTDs.

I'm running fsx Win 8.1 with no issues, Eyefinity across 3 screens on xfx 6950's (although I disable crossfire when running fsx.exe).  I wonder what the difference could be.

Is this a fresh install of it?  Were the steps to installing it done correctly?  What video card are you using, what resolution are you trying to run?
