April 25, 201412 yr Administrators Could be many reasons for the crash. You will have to go into your Events viewer and look at the events marked with the red error symbol and see what the faulting module is. You'll be looking for things like UIAutomationcore.dll error, ATI errors, if you have an ATI Graphics card, NTDLL.DLL error. etc Let us know what you see so we can help further. April 25, 201412 yr This is an automatic message. This topic has been moved from "MS FSX Forum" to "Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum". This move has been done for a number of possible reasons. The most likely reason is that the post was off topic. The topic could also have contained images or a video that were not appropriate to the original forum it was posted in. The images might not have been "illustrative" or "explanatory" in nature. The topic could have been moved because we deemed it to be more appropriately placed elsewhere. Please ensure that your posts are "on topic" and contain illustrative images or videos as appropriate. Do not post videos or images just for entertainment purposes anywhere but in the screen shot or video forums. See our image posting rules here. Members who continue to post off topic posts can be denied entry to specific forums in order to reduce and remove the practice. Your cooperation is appreciated. ADMIN BOT... Do not PM or send Email.
April 25, 201412 yr This is one of the reasons AVSIM has a CTD Guide, located under Hot Spots to the right of this forum. It provides you investigative techniques to find the cause of your problem. First thing though, you need to download the AppCrashView (see link in CTD Guide). It provides more information about your crash. Under all circumstances, do not place the uiautomationcore.dll in your main fsx directory. It does not fix crashes and I have the proof in this forum. Go through the topics and look at those who had a crash and then look to see if they had the uiautomationcore.dll in their main fsx folder. Yes, they did and it did not fix their crash. In most cases, when asked to removed the uiautomationcore.dll from their fsx directory, the crashes stopped. Further explained in the AVSIM CTD Guide.
