Fabulous FlightCraft

Featured Replies

A chairde,Not sure if anyone has reviewed the latest offering from FlightCraft ... their A330-200. I've always been a big Airbus fan owning PSS A320 and A330/340 offerings. Their panels are amongst the best you can get, but (and I suspect there's many who'll agree with me), the best marriage in FS9 has been the PSS panel with iFDG's A32x models ... superb. Likewise, Opensky's A330/340 are nothing short or superb but the dynamics always let me down (or I let them down!).I didn't think it could get any better -> shame on me -> FlightCraft once again instill that constant surprise and joy being a devoted FS simmer, and along comes their A330-200. I think it is fabulous, the dynamics feel great, the marriage with PSS's panel is almost seamless, but it's the depth of the model that is incredible. I weighted Opensky's model against it, and couldn't reach a conclusion ... until now. Now, I'm am in NO WAY slamming any freeware or payware manufacturer, I take my humble hat off to them all, especially iFDG, Opensky, and Aerodesigns. And now we have Flightcraft. If I was more clinical I would say there are some aspects of Opensky's A330 that is better, some of the lines are more accurate, and of course they have a (deservedly) large following with many repaints, versions, etc. But take a really close inspection of the Flighcraft model ... they must have researched the A330 by microscope ... watch the reflection on the white paint for example, their bogies are so "real". Any comments?Nice to see Airbus being represented so well in freeware. Finally, I must express my sincere appreciation to all you freeware builders there, it is YOU that make this hobby what it is. Thank you.Slan,D.PS. Ireland to win tomorrow at Murrayfield and take the 6 nations ... where can I get a ticket at this stage?

Is it possible to combine the flightcraft planes with the PSS A330 panels?ricardo

Ricardo,Yes ... easily, in fact more easily than most. You need to make some subtle changes to the aircraft.cfg (e.g. flap settings), otherwise, straight forward.Do you have PSS A330/340? More importantly, do u have a ticket for Scotland v Ireland at murrayfield tomorrow?D.

Hey Delboy,I very much like the Flightcraft version 2...ONLY gripe is the big-assed rear bogies "melt" into the tarmac on touchdown! Anyone know of a fix? Would like to merge the PSS panel aswell...only got the A320. Is there "much" difference with the PSS A330 panel.Tell you what me olde gaelic charmer? If Scotland win tomorrow (which they will of course ahem!) then you can show me the tweaks to use the PSS panel!?! If, and a big if at that...unless another 2 dodgy refereeing decisions go against us heh heh!, Ireland win...by the odd point...then I will support the "Green Machine" for the rest of the battles! Howabout it! Think I fixed that quite good for myself!?!?!PS sorry no tickets so I'm afraid you swam all that way for nowt. Have a good one! Gud luck! :-beerchug

Ian,Deal.haven't sorted the touchdown bogies yet. I doubt u can marry the PSS A320 with the Flighcraft, u will need the PSS A330/340, and it's not perfect but weights and limits are closer than A320 to make it workable. As for tomorrow - u by no doubt know by now that our talismen are missing so it'll be a real close run thing. Alas, I'm sure we have what it takes. And my consolation is that I don't have to swim home if we lose, but I hope I get a bus quick enough.I have a Scottish wife and 2 wee scottish girls.... outnumbered 3 to 1 ... need to get to the game or failing that ... a pub will do!I'll catch up with u after the game so.May the best team win.D.BTW - Impressive performance against France .... worrying!

And, yes, I have the PSS 330/340 panels.ricardo

I have no idea if you an see it on American TV, though I'm sure there are plenty of Irish bars that will show it. Kick off at 4PM GMT. I'll let you know the result.

40-13 to Ireland!

Hey Del,Nice to see you are not gloating about it...bet you are really!?!?!We were.............gubbed!, beasted!, lined up one by one and severely kicked in the ####! But guess what, we didn't play that bad???...and the Irish had 2 of their best men out of it! :-violinOh well, a deal is a deal..."Come on the Irish!" :-hah PS I would have cheered them on anyway...I like the "Paddy's", have done a lot of work over there when they were doing their railway modernisation in the Malahide, Maynooth to Clonsilla areas and more recently Houston station area in Dublin.Speak to you when you are sober! :-bigangel

Hi Delboy, Any chance you could post the subtle changes required to the aircraft.cfg . I have the PSS A330 aircraft.Warren

Guys, I'm not at my FS PC at the moment so I can't extract the exact mods themsevles. From what I can remember, the following changes are needed;1) Copy the FLAPS.x section(s) from your PSS A330/340 and overwrite those in the FlightCraft aircraft.cfg - remedies the flap positions on the aircraft/panel;2) Change the aircraft title for EACH aircraft in the CFG to include "PSS" in the title itself - this will give you the correct engine instrument displays (instead of the 4 engined A340)I have to examine 2 other issues as follows (any feedback greatly appreciated);1) Sinking wheel bogies, especially on landing. The wheel points/adjustments are slighly off2) For some reason, the throttle panel on the FlightCraft uses the A340 - even though the engine display is RR A330! I'm missing something silly here! There's a start for you guys - hope it is useful.Del.PS. just recovering from a hangover following the Scotland Ireland game at Murrayfield ... too much celebrating was had by all!
