Eaglesoft CJ1 v2 question (tinted windows)

Featured Replies

I have the ES CJ1 v1 and am interested in purchasing v2.

V1 of this aircraft does not have tinted windows but v2 does.

I'm not a fan of tinted windows in FSX aircraft (makes the outside world too dim, IMO) and am wondering if there is  way to "turn off" this option via a menu selection.   The Carenado Caravan, as one example,  does allow this.

Thanks for any information.

In the root ..\texture there are two files for window reflections:
CJ1+X_reflect_A.dds
CJ1+X_reflect_B.dds

Simply replace both files with a tiny pure black (0,0,0) textures with the same names to remove the unwanted 'reflections.'

An alternative would be to load both using Photoshop or DXTBMP.exe and make the Alpha channel pure black (0,0,0). This too will make them fully transparent.

Bill,

Thanks very much.  Appreciate the help and I will be purchasing this aircraft.

I'm a little confused, though, on your first instruction.

I keep the same file names but add "0,0,0" to the file description?    Could you detail exactly what I have to do?

Thanks again.

Bob

Bob, the process is a photoshop or other repainting program process.
The end result has the CJ1+X_reflect_A.dds and CJ1+X_reflect_B.dds replaced with your new work.
Ask at the repainter's forum here at Avsim if unfamiliar.
