May 22, 201412 yr Hi folks, I was wondering if anybody has their cores with different levels of overclock running FSX ? eg Core 0 at 4.3GHz Core 1 at 4.6GHz Core 2 at 4.5GHz and Core 3 at 4.4GHz. What are the chances (if any) of data corruption ? Thanks
May 22, 201412 yr Yep, it actually is a valid approach. You will have some cores that overclock better than others. You may have one core that runs hot at say 4.7, but the other cores are cooler, so running the hot core at lower frequency, and the other 3 higher is advantageous. In fact the overclocking utility in Asus Ai Suite automatically overclocks cores to different degrees. Whether there are any negatives from this approach I'm not sure.
May 23, 201412 yr I don't have that version but there's a nice overview here... 4:13 into the video for per core tuning. You can of course do the same from within the UEFI when you manually overclock.
May 25, 201412 yr Only of real benefit for FSX if Core#0 or Core#1 overclocks higher than the others as you can than put FSXs main thread (the one that produces the FPS) on the highest clocked core.
