June 9, 201411 yr Oh I thought my problems were behind me! My system is fast and robust, i7 quad core, overclocked, with a GTX 760, I've been running ORBX England at 30 fps locked with any plane and with the A2A 172 and Cherokee it has not dipped at all. Recently I've been hearing the warning bells on long flights between UK2000 airports, one of them being an Xtreme, where I drop to 22 fps. But now every flight longer than 15 mins ends in a CTD and OOM. The ASN weather is simply fair weather, traffic is light in the area.... this never happened before. I can't think what might cause a change and I dont know what to do. Sliders are set 3/4 just as they always have been. Disturbingly, I rebuilt a new fsx.cfg file and as normal, it sets your sliders appropriately to your system. When I first installed FSX all were auto set at max and I pulled them back a bit. Thgis time they were quite low, as if there is something else going on.... I'm not stupid with my scenery choices, I do get the feeling that something is going on I can't pin down. Do you think a fresh install would help me??? BTW: fps was running unlimited at 30-40 at the time of the last crash. - Paul Elliott http://www.avsim.com/topic/450607-amy-johnson-london-to-australia-attempt/
June 9, 201411 yr Author OK, this is getting serious! I tried the same flight with the A2A 172 and same result, lots of texture blackouts, when shifting back to cockpit view, followed by CTD. I just tried my old faithful Carenado Archer in which I've flown all over UK ORBX territory, and again after 20 mins, CTD. This time without any texture loss at all. I got the OOM error message at the end. So something is definately 'up'. Just what the heck is it???? - Paul Elliott http://www.avsim.com/topic/450607-amy-johnson-london-to-australia-attempt/
June 9, 201411 yr You need to provide an AppCrashView report which will provide us more details of your crash. Running out of memory after 20 minutes is certainly strange. You might want to ask your question down in the Unofficial Orbx Forum here at AVSIM where you might find an owner who has the same problem. Since it happens in two different aircraft, it must be the Orbx scenery is not installed properly. Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource!
