Broke something that causes all aircraft to start dark and cold

Featured Replies

I recently re-installed PMDG MD-11, Milviz F-15, and for some reason all aircraft are starting up ok, then within initialization time revert to cold and dark (Basically shut down).

I searched the forums, but could not find anything relevant (According to my search criteria).

What do I look for in the config(?) file to fix this error?

Or perhaps I need to look somewhere else?

Thanks for any insight and help.

If your defualt flight is cold and dark than so will all teh other(mostly) when they start. If you dont want tehm cold and dark set you default flight as you want it and resave it as the default flight.

Thanks for the input, but I am afraid it is something else.

I had already tried that a few times yesterday with no change in results.

I narrowed the problem down to the aircraft starting with 0 fuel in the tanks, and shutting the engines down on start up.

I cannot locate where that is in the config file to fix, so if anyone has any ideas I would appreciate the insight.

Thanks in advance.

Does your aircraft.cfg have a section like this:

[fuel]
LeftMain=-5.400, -4.580, 0.820, 335.000, 0.000
LeftAux=-4.830, -11.900, 1.420, 152.000, 0.000
RightMain=-5.400, 4.580, 0.820, 335.000, 0.000
RightAux=-4.830, 11.900, 1.420, 152.000, 0.000
fuel_type=1.000000
number_of_tank_selectors=1
electric_pump=1

Thanks for the help charliearon, and no I do not have a fuel section in my config file for some reason.

Funny thing is though, I saved and deleted my config to build a new one, and though it "works", it does not have that section either.

The fuel section should be in your aircraft.cfg and NOT in the FSX.cfg

Ah gotcha, thing is, all aircraft are empty at start up.

I tried a t7, 738, A320, Duke Turbine, and the Robinson R22.

And yes, they all have the fuel section.

The only thing I found about tanks starting out empty was a "Cold and Dark" start up situation

modification that starts all aircraft with empty fuel tanks.
