June 18, 201411 yr Bonjour, I have a X52 (not PRO) which I ,think is a common device with FSX. Can anybody confirm this just to help me understand. The elevator in FSX (with aileron centered) works by fits and starts when I move it slowly.. When I keep a button pushed (for example T1) then the elevator works smoothly. Also if the aileron is not centered the elevator works smoothly. So the solution is to have the T1 switch blocked in the down position. But it is not a very satisfying solution. Any idea ? Best regards Claude Claude Troncy

Best regards Claude What you need to do is increase your dead zones. If you don't know what that is let me know. THEE BEST solution if you are working with an X52 is get a REGISTERED copy of FSUIPC as the filtering and calibration this program provides brings a new kind of reality to the whole sim experience. You can make your X52 manipulate systems you may not even know were there or did not know you could get to. The "in game" assignments FSX makes available are good. BUT Pete Towsend (FSUIPC4) has managed to make available almost every command FSX has in it. The in game commands are not a full list of what is available. To give a little more example of what I mean. The X52 (RAW SETTINGS) let's say without using FSUIPC makes for over exaggerated movements of the stick to achieve the proper control input information to make the sim do what you want it to. Fine enough if you are a gamer. IF you are a pilot however, this is extremely annoying. At least to me. I fly a Beechjet, Falcon 10, King Air 200, Pilatus, etc. Several aircraft with VERY different requirements for control input. I have models of all of the above aircraft for FSX. Regular in game FSX Settings were simply not cutting it for me. I found FSUIPC and now I can really get down to the "enth" if you will on control input info to very closely simulate the real deal in the aircraft. I can have slider brakes for instance. That way I can creep and perform a realistic taxi. Trim. I can set my trim to behave like it does in the aircaft. HAHA Just realized I am blathering. Sorry. :) So to make a long answer shorter, you need to define your dead zones WIDER so that when you let go of the stick absolutely nothing happens. Let me know if you need more help. HAHA again sorry for the blog. Respectfully, Jet
June 24, 201411 yr Author Hi Jet, Thank you for your answer. I have FSUIPC with a standard dead-zone. I do not think the problem is related to this. I suspect a bug in the driver. If I keep a button pushed while moving the elevator , then everything is smooth. So I find a solution by sticking the function button (Throttle) in the down position. and everything is perfect. Strange ! isn't... This solution doesn't seem to confuse the driver, nor increase CPU. Best regards Claude Claude Troncy
June 27, 201411 yr Well there is possibly trash in your sitck too I have taken mine apart and clean it. Makes a difference. Also a little oil ( 1 small drop) under the main visable spring helps alot. Go here and get the latest driver. http://www.saitek.com/%C2'> You can go to your computer and right click the icon look at the properties Then before install the new driver FLUSH the old one by control panel and add remove programs. Then look in C: for anything Saitek or Madcaz or Smart Technology BOTH in your program files and program (x86) files. THEN run the driver install software. I you do the above and still have problems you are probably not calibrated correctly or you have trash in the stick. FSUIPC Calibration is the way to go One last thing. Go into FSX under Options then Controls. Make sure your AXIS are not assigned in FSX as well as FSUIPC YOU MUST assign your Axis in FSUIPC and you must untick the enable joystick from FSX. If you want to still use the POV hat switch you must enable controllers but make sure you disable all the Axis on your controller within FSX and only use FSUIPC Chances are the two software programs are fighting for control and that is why you are having arguments with your controller. Let me know how that works! :) If you down load the current driver and current programming software together you can actually use FSX FSUIPC and the programming software from SAITEK to come up with endless mounts of assigning capabilities as your Mode switch will be usable. IF you like I can talk you through that too. Take care. Respectfully, Jet
June 28, 201411 yr Author Bonjour Jet, In fact I noticed that I have the same problem outside FSX. So it is a pure X52 problem. As you do not have this behavior I think there is something wrong with my joystick. I saw on the saitek forum, that someone had the same strange behavior. What makes me dubious, is that when pressing any button while moving the y axes, the problem disappear. so I do not think it is mechanical. As I told you the solution by sticking the function button down on the throttle works perfectly. Thanks again. Claude Claude Troncy
June 29, 201411 yr Interesting. By function button do you mean the Clutch button with the little "i" emblem on it? If you ruled out all of the above "stuff" lol, that I posted, then I agree with you it is something wrong with your stick. That said. When I look at my stick via the control panel, and calibrate the axis that way, I notice that I have little jumps or spikes here and there. Nothing to throw off my sim experience however, and I don't require the use of any other buttons to get my stick to function like it should as you are currently having. Tomorrow, give Madcaz a call. They have techs that will walk you through your problem. Good Luck! Oh. One last thing. I wasn't able to determine by your last post if you replaced the driver or not yet. IF you do, BE SURE to go to the above folders I listed. They should be in your C:drive. FLUSH any instance of your diver before you go to Madcaz and download the new driver. I learned that trick from NickN and his method for installing the Nvidia Drivers for my video card. Works great. One other area to check would be your device manager under control panel. There should be NO YELLOW cautions under the GAME CONTROLLER or the CONTROLLER listing. If there is you definately have a problem in the software. You CAN actuall delete the faulty file from the Device Manager right there too. That my clear everything up. Respectfully, Jet
June 29, 201411 yr Author No yellow caution... I have also re install the drivers. I contacted Madcaz, and they said that my stick is faulty. Regards Claude Claude Troncy
July 1, 201411 yr Have you ever taken apart to clean it or service it? It voides the warranty but at this point who cares right? There are some great You Tube videos out there. Not that hard to do and you may infact find a bad wire causeing this and either rig it yourself or order new parts. I have done this myself and wow what a difference it makes to get in there and clean up. Good luck! Respectfully, Jet
