June 21, 201411 yr Found an older thread with a link to a German page.. Using the settings within at the following link I finally have smooooth flying around 30fps+ in the CYSE area. German Page Link: http://tinyurl.com/nlxawl7 See my screenshot here: http://i.imgur.com/hqOzYs6.jpg One other shot at slightly different SIM time: http://i.imgur.com/bi4CT32.jpg Perhaps I was doing something wrong before, but this German post finally put all the pieces together for me!
June 21, 201411 yr Very useful information on that site. Kind of puts all the known working tweaks in one spot. As well as provide some explanation into the settings. Especially the negative LOD bias. Thanks for the lead, TurbineSeaplane. I'll try those out, maybe it'll help me with my troubles in CYVR. Cheers, Jazz.
June 21, 201411 yr Author Great idea. I'm going to test out around YVR right now. Are you using a 3rd party YVR add-on though? (imagine that would extra-tax the resources like OrbX does)
June 21, 201411 yr Author Heaven (until v2.3 at least) appears to have been reached for me. I actually was able to take off and enjoy KOAK and the surrounding bay area with real wx from FSGRW at FPS 30-40+. AWESOME!!
June 21, 201411 yr My apologies Turbine, for the late response. To answer your question, I am running FSDT CYVR. My frames usually drop if I fly within 20 nm of YVR. I am just going to try these settings and see what happens. regards, Craig.
June 21, 201411 yr Author Interested to hear how YVR performs for you. That's an add on that looks pretty cool!
June 22, 201411 yr Hi Turbine, again apologies for taking so long to respond here. I finally had some spare time on my hands this morning,(6:30am...after the F1 race), and put P3D through some tests. FSDT CYVR, GSX, FSGRW,and ORBX PNW active. Using the default A36 from gate P1, on the south terminal ramp area. With some adjustment to the cloud and terrain shadow draw distance (20000m vs 40000m) my fps hovered around 20-23. An improvement from 12-18. I typically run my sliders in the middle range and adjust up/down according to the area I am flying in. Flying performance was nice and smooth,(no input lag). Some micro stutters,(more like chihuahua shivers) but none of the major, head shaking stutters.(hope that makes sense). Once I flown beyond Kits beach/downtown Van, my frames went into the 30-70 fps range. I guess I should mention that my flight went from CYVR to CYSE to CYPS north to the glaciers and back to CYPS. I will try out the Q400 later this evening, see where my settings/performance stand. As for FSDT CYVR, it is a really well done scenery. There are some 'bugs', with flashing textures in the terminal buildings. This has been well documented but since I haven't installed the latest updates, this issue 'may' be fixed. I'll check that later. I will say, that on approach into CYVR, the view is simply amazing, FSDT have knocked it out of the park. regards, Jazz

I'll have to check out that scenery pack for sure.
June 22, 201411 yr FSDT do offer a trial for all their sceneries. I forget if it is a 'time limit' or 'ground use only' type trial, but it is more than ample to find out it will work with your particular setup. By glancing at your pc specs, you should not have any troubles at all. I'll bet, you will receive better frames at CYVR than you do at CYSE. Cheers, Jazz
June 22, 201411 yr Author I'll bet, you will receive better frames at CYVR than you do at CYSE. Haha! Well, that won't take much. Other than maybe OrbX around the SF Bay Area on high settings, I'm not sure if anything, anywhere, hammers my FPS more than Squamish does.
