Utility software to stop unneccessary services?

Featured Replies

Windows 8.1 / 64,  GTX580/2GB,  running P3D v2.2.

I'm looking for some utility software that can temporarily shut down non-essential services and applications,  maybe defrag memory, etc.  Does anyone have any suggestions for such an application?

I'm a little "gun-shy".  some time ago I downloaded WinRAR after googling from what I assume was an unreputable site-  I installed it and got myself a "hostage-ware" virus (now long gone, thanks to HitMan Pro and Malware Bytes)...  So any links to a reliable source would also be appreciated.

Thanks, Bruce.

Be careful - certain addon aircraft require "strange" external services. For example, if you disable FlexNet Licensing Service when using PMDG aircraft then the aircraft will fail to load.

Nuff said and also Gamebooster is another option.

Thanks everyone, I've found AlacrityPC on the web along with several other options (including GamerBooster also), with reviews.

Thanks again, Bruce.
