disappearing aircraft textures

Featured Replies

Hi all,I have searched through the forums but could not find anything reasonable to solve this...The aircraft textures tend to disappear after a very short time, sometimes they do not appear anyhow. A good 2 months before it was all OK, no texture problems. This ONLY happens to aircraft textures and ONLY happens in FS9, I can not reproduce it in any other game. Now I have a Sapphire Radeon 9700Pro, and it has caused several other problems already.Has anyone else faced this problem? Does anyone have a clue/solution? Or do I have to live with it?Thanks in advance,

Hi,This is usually a video card issue. Try updating your drivers (or if you have updated them, roll back to an earlier version). This sometimes occurs if the video card runs out of memory; try it in a less texture-intense area.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

Something similar has also happened to me. In my case it was caused by myself. I had changed the performance settings of Memory Usage in WindowsXP from Programs into System Cache. Changing it back to Programs solved my texture problems. Worth a check?

An update for those thousands who are sleeplessly wait my response on this... ;)I have managed to come across this problem by lowering the Graphic Aperture Size in the BIOS to something really low. I found out that the higher I set this value the more possible my textures vanish. Don't know why, don't know what this Graphic Aperture Size is, but it helped.Cheers,
