Flying in Turbulence

Featured Replies

Hi

Does anyone else find the 777 difficult to control in regards to speed when flying through turbulence?  I often struggle to keep the speed down on approach if there is turbulence about.  Does anyone have any advice or tips for better speed control?  I use ASN.

Thanks

So difficulty controlling speed on approach due to turbulence is not realistic and I should change my settings?

Yes. I've had similar. On climb-out, aircraft could be slow to accelerate in turbulent conditions and on arrival, could be tough to slow in bumpy air. This is pre SP1. I'll play with the settings for ASN

No.  FSX turbulence is not realistic, and you should change your settings.  The autopilot has limitations.  As mentioned, this is discussed in the intro manual, which you should read.

I have read the intro manual, I just was not aware that the general consensus is to turn down the active sky turbulence settings. I shall give this a go.
