Why is my ezdok aircraft view stuck in VC?

Featured Replies

I have now tried just about everything to get my pmdg 737 work in aircraft view mode when using ezdok. I have ran that config tool a ton of times. High memory fix to 1. Any other suggestions? The only option I got left is to uninstall the pmdg and ezdok and start over.

I doubt its the plane. Ezdok is such a fussy, glitchy program; especially with Win8.

Did you install the 1.17 patch?

If that doesnt' work, I would uninstall Ezdok then reinstall. Make sure to reinstall it from the online program.

Yeah I have not installed 1.7 yet! That could be my last resort.

the picture you linked is exactly what it looks like when the config tool hasn't been run..

double check that your aircraft.cfg file is not set to read-only, it's been a while but i'm pretty sure the ngx was set that way after installing and needed to be switched to writeable before ezdok would modify it.

there should be an entry at the end of the file that starts with this:

[CameraDefinition.201]
Title=EZdok Aircraft Universal camera
...
...

Cool. When I get the chance I'll check it out. Thanks.

Is that the pmdg file in the aircrafts folder in fsx?

Is that the pmdg file in the aircrafts folder in fsx?

yeah! the path is:

fsx/SimObjects/Airplanes/PMDG 737-800NGX/aircraft.cfg

It is not a read only. Couldn't find camera definition 201.

And nothing that has ezdok in the config

yep, well that's what's causing the trouble.

it's puzzling why the config tool isn't modifying it tho.

are there other addons that modified the file first maybe? did the config tool run as admin? maybe the parent folder is read-only and it's inheriting the setting? is it adding the entry for other planes?

you could try just adding it manually maybe it will work

here is the complete entry in mine,it's just added to the end of aircraft.cfg

[CameraDefinition.201]
Title=EZdok Aircraft Universal camera
Guid={D8D67955-2E9B-4e75-9D8B-8EFFBBFAC65B}
Description=Universal camera for EZdok cam utility
Origin=Center
SnapPbhAdjust=Swivel
SnapPbhReturn=FALSE
PanPbhAdjust=Swivel
PanPbhReturn=FALSE
Track=None
ShowAxis=FALSE
AllowZoom=TRUE
InitialZoom=0.40
ShowWeather=Yes
InitialXyz=0,0,0
InitialPbh=10, 0, 0
XyzAdjust=TRUE
Category=Aircraft
MomentumEffect=FALSE
ClipMode=Minimum
HotKeySelect=4

good luck!

cheers

If your NGX isn't updated to SP1c, then you should do it.  Not only will it correct the read-only status of the aircraft.cfg, but it obviously fixes a great many other things too.  Updating to Sp1c might just fix your problem here.

What is the parent folder?

Yeah I don't think any other addons are causing the problem. The aircraft view worked just fine with my default 737.

But when I get the chance today I will try all the stuff you guys are suggesting.

Thanks again!

Ran the configerator as admin. Worked!

I am totally learning to just run everything as admin. It's very nice to have ezdok outside views after a month of trying to figure this out. Thanks again!!
