Lighting Effect On Panel

Featured Replies

High All, When turning gliders or most aircraft in FSX you get a lighting effect on the panel to represent how the panel would fall into shade depending on where the sun is. I find this annoying when doing some exercises in the glider and wondered if there is any way this effect can be edited out. Does anyone know if it can?

Many thanks

Possibly uncheck "Aircraft casts shadows on itself"?

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱

Interesting you want this realistic feature gone, why?

I know cabin lighting annoys me at times only due to the fact that the direction the plane is facing from the sun cause a too dark cockpit condition and the cabin lights don't work well enough.

Have you tried adjusting the airplane detail setting in options to lower settings? That may turn off lighting effects inside the cockpit.

I want this because flying on certain headings depending on time of day the cockpit panel and instruments become too dark to see, that is too unrealistic at times
