aircraft.cfg question?

Is there a parameter I can adjust in the aircraft.cfg (or elsewhere) to reduce the acceleration/deceleration effect on my eyepoint in the VC? I really hate having my head pushed halfway through the seat on takeoff after I've carefully set my eyepoint beforehand. :mad:

This can only be changed on a global basis (it affects all aircraft).

 

You will need to edit Cameras.cfg. There are two and they are located in different places, but I cannot remember which one FSX actually uses. They are in the FSX root folder, as well as %appdata%\Microsoft\FSX\. I believe it's the one in AppData. If not, try the one in the main FSX folder.

 

Open it, scroll down to CameraDefinition.002, and change MomentumEffect = Yes to MomentumEffect = No. I'm fairly certain this is the setting you're after.

 

EDIT: Just checked and it is indeed the Cameras.cfg in AppData. Changing MomentumEffect to No does indeed remove the camera motion and leaves it in the place that you left it.

EDIT: Well I tried this and unfortunately, a lot of the immersion factor disappeared with the momentum effect. I guess I didn't want to turn this off after all.  :Whistle:

If you want to keep the momentum effect and tone it down a bit, you can by editing the FSX.cfg.

 

Look for the [dynamicheadmovement] section.

I use OpusFSX Live Camera. Each Aircraft can be individually adjusted. I don't use their weather engine.
