Wind Noise over Engine Noise

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Not sure if this has come up before. I have the TSS 747GE engine soundpack and for me, climb/cruise is very unrealistic. Especially in cruise, it would be nice to hear mostly wind noise, almost cancelling out the "buzzsaw" engine noise. Anyone have any fixes to this?

Thanks,

Chris

In FSX go to your sound menu and lower the engine slider .just take it down until you get a good mix .might take a few goes till your happy.

Thanks Steve, Ill give it a try.

A better way is to use FS Sound Studio. Work out where your engine percent typically is during cruise and reduce the engine volume only for that sector. This way you won't notice on the ground. Probably the sound file(s) for Eng-Jet-Whine will be the ones you need to address.

Also find the wind noise wav file and increase the volume using Audacity by a couple of decibels.

To get the right balance takes a lot of tinkering. The 747 is a typically noisy Boeing cockpit so the wind noise above 250 kts should be most definately audible!!
