August 14, 201411 yr Author I fixed this when I saw in the data folder that VBFlightDB.mdf was named VBFlightDB-copy.mdf so I renamed it but something tells me I should re-install anyway I had made a copy of these from the last one I uninstalled before applying the update which maybe I should not have done>?
August 14, 201411 yr Commercial Member John, You should probably install the base package again and then the update. No need to uninstall the old version. I will have the Base 1.4 version posted later this morning, so if you wait, you can skip the upgrade. Here's the difference: Installing the full Trial Version installs the Database, Code and Grammar files and replaces your options file with the defaults. Thus you will lose your settings and any changes you made to your database. This should be done the first time you install Pilot2ATC and if you think your database or code is somehow corrupted. Even in this case, you should not have to uninstall the old code as all the relevant files are replaced with the full install. Installing the update leaves the Database and Settings files alone and only replaces the Code and Grammar files. It is a smaller download and lets you get back up and running quickly with the new code. When we moved from the 1.0 versions to the newer ones, we went from installing in the Program Files (x86) directory to installing outside of that protected area so that we could make changes to the Database. That was the only upgrade where an uninstall was called for. I've updated the instructions on the download page and apologize for the confusion they caused. Thanks, Dave
